Welness at Kilefjorden Camping
~ The sauna and hottub both fit 6 persons at a time. You can only rent the sauna and hottub for a privat session, and during your wellness experience the platform with sauna and hottub will be solely for you.
~ You can choose to rent sauna or hottub or both.
~ The sauna and hottub can be reserved by both camping guests as non-camping guests, where our camping guests have a priority when we receive double bookings.
~ Choose yourself whether you want to wear bathing clothes or go naked. The sauna has mirrored glass that prevents people from looking in during daylight (if it is dark you can still see something if the light is on inside).
~ We have no age limit, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
~ All sauna and hot tub use and swimming is at your own risk.

Sauna

~ Stay max 15 min in the sauna
~ Spend 10-15 min cooling down & relax
~ Repeat this cycle as long as you like it
~ Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration
~ If you are new to sauna use, maybe start with 5-10 minutes in the sauna at a mild temp and gradually increase the time & temp as your body adjusts to the heat.
~ Feel the symptoms of your body! Exit the sauna if you feel unwell, overheated, dizzy or have a rapid heart rate.
~ The temperature in the sauna is highest on the upper bench and lower on the lower bench.
START
~ Heat up the sauna yourself by firing up with available firewood and firelighters (available in the changeroom). The sauna takes ±30 minutes (±3 times filling the oven with firewood) to increase from cold to ±60C. You can heat up to your preferred temperature (60-90C). Remember to regularly add firewood to keep the fire burning. Extra fire wood is available in the box outside.
~ Take place on a towel in the sauna
~ No outdoor shoes inside the sauna
~ Before entering the sauna, please rinse your feet in a water basin to rinse off dirt and soil
~ If you like sauna infusions, feel free to fill the sauna bucket with water and add 2-3 bottle caps of aroma. Pour 2-3 spoons of water on the stones of the wood oven to create steam (careful not to burn yourself). Enjoy the increased humidity that is giving an additional heat sensation.
COOLING DOWN
~ You can cool down by going into the river water, rolling in snow or just by being outside. Do what feels good for you. But make sure to cool your body (and head!) down after using the sauna!
~ Feel free to stand on the woolen pads when you are cooling down outside. It will be less cold for your feet.
~ If you did not rinse off your sweat in the river water, please take place on your towel when using the chairs.
~ It is not advised to wear slippers into the river water as you might lose them in the mud.
~ Drink water regularly to avoid dehydration
~ Take some rest (outside or in the changeroom) before you go in the sauna again.
FINISH
~ Heat up the sauna once more with wood to remove moisture
~ Empty the sauna bucket, do not leave water in it
~ Don’t leave the chair cushions outside but place them inside in the changeroom
~ Leave everything as clean as you found it :)

HOT TUB

~ Heat up the hot tub yourself by firing up with available firewood and firelighters (available in the changeroom). It takes ±2.5 hours (±3 times filling the oven with firewood) to heat up from cold to 38-42C. Keep the lid on the hot tub when heating up. Extra fire wood is available in the box outside. Usually it is not needed to continue firing up once the water reached the desired temperature.
~ Place the lid from the hot tub on its side in between the sauna and the box
~ The hot tub is filled with river water; it has a yellowish color and can contain some sand
~ Before entering the hot tub, please rinse your feet in a water basin to rinse off dirt and soil
~ Do not use soaps or oil in the hot tub
~ Do not pee in the hot tub (of course)
FINISH
~ Place back the lid on the hot tub and close all 4 buckles
~ Empty the water basin and place it back into the changeroom
~ Don’t leave the chair cushions outside but place them inside in the changeroom
~ Take garbage with you
~ Leave everything as clean as you found it :)
